Frequently Asked Questions

Full mouth reconstructions usually take about 3 weeks to complete. The timeline can vary depending if other supporting procedures are needed. This would be determined during the consultation.

A full mouth reconstruction is when every tooth in the mouth requires a dental restoration, typically being a porcelain veneer or porcelain crown.

Most people require just one treatment. Some people require more than one, depending on how discolored their teeth are to start and how bright of color they are trying to achieve.

Most commonly with porcelain veneers, and porcelain crowns if needed.

This refers to the placement of dental restorations on all the top and bottom teeth. A normal mouth has 28 teeth, not counting wisdom teeth. Smile makeovers usually encompass 10 upper and 10 lower teeth. When all 28 are done, it is commonly referred to as a full mouth reconstruction.

Usually around 15 years. Over time, dental materials and techniques have improved, thus improving the longevity of dental restorations.

A porcelain crown covers the entire tooth, while a porcelain veneer covers only the front of the tooth.

The main reason for a tooth to have a crown is for added strength and durability to the tooth. The tooth must have been weak, brittle, or structurally compromised in order to need a crown.

Crowns vary based on the materials used. There are many different types of porcelains/ceramics available. I advise patients not to get hung up on particular types, as each material has specific indications for usage. Material selection should be based on the structural needs and aesthetic requirements for the smile.

The physical size of the tooth is reduced in order to make room for the porcelain crown material to fit on top of the tooth.

A porcelain crown is a type of dental restoration, in which the entire tooth is covered.

My techniques for smile designs are highly bespoke. Your new smile should be uniquely yours, and look like you were born with it. I have been asked many times over the years if I have a particular style to creating smiles. My answer is always 'no'. In fact, if you look at my work, what you will notice is that there are no patterns of similarities. Each smile is highly unique, as it should be!

A smile analysis is a complete review and assessment of the teeth, gums, lips, jawline, cheeks, skin tone, eye color, and face. These factors are carefully considered when determining what the optimum smile will look like for the individual. People have an individual look, and so should your smile!

Cosmetic dentistry offers the benefits of healthy teeth and gums, proper chewing function, and a beautiful, natural appearance. What many people also come to find is that it provides the amazing benefit of confidence!
