What You Should Ask When Selecting Your Dentist
- What type of special training have you had?
Dr. Marashi graduated with Honors in esthetic Dentistry from New York University. He then completed a general practice residency program while completing several of the most advanced continuing education courses offered in dentistry. He is an instructor for the premier continuing education course, in which he has taught dentists from all over the world how to create beautiful smiles. Dr. Marashi serves as a consultant to major dental manufacturers, where he helps with the development and testing of new dental materials and products.
- How many veneers have you done?
Dr. Marashi has placed over 9000 veneers with incredible success!
- Can you show me examples of work you have personally done that specifically resembles my situation?
Dr. Marashi maintains an extensive photo library of all his cases. They are his own work, and because he has done so many smiles... there will be something similar to yours! Many dentists use brochures made by marketing companies or dental manufacturers showing nice smiles to show patients what certain dental procedures can do for them, BUT, the dentist did not actually do the work!
- Tell me about the lab that fabricates the porcelain?
Dr. Marashi only uses the finest porcelain and works with the top master ceramist in the world, located in New York City. This allows for the most natural, beautiful looking smiles. Many dentists use inferior dental labs because they can decrease their overhead costs. Lesser dental labs are not capable of creating the high quality porcelain restorations you would want.
- Will you be the person who actually hand-sculpts my smile? How?
Dr. Marashi bonds a solid piece of plastic to your existing teeth. In its unrefined form, it looks like a large chiclet. In about an hour, Dr. Marashi will hand-sculpt that block into a beautiful sculpturea new set of teeth for your Temporary dental restorations. This will serve as a preview for you and Dr. Marashi to evaluate your new smile BEFORE the permanent restorations are placed. Now, the shape, size, color, and function of the teeth can be evaluated and revised if needed. This is the ONLY predictable way to know what your smile will look like BEFORE it is completed. From his hand-sculpted temporaries, molds of them will be provided, along with all the relevant photos of the face and smile, for his ceramist to duplicate into the final porcelain units. Please view "The Veneer Process" page.
***Dr. Marashi does NOT rely on wax molds or any pre-fabricated models made by a lab technician to create your smile. This is the technique that most dentists use, that unfortunately can lead to a "one-size fits all" appearance of the teeth.***
- What happens if I do not like my temporary veneers and/or permanent veneers?
Dr. Marashi will sculpt your temporaries to your satisfaction before the permanent restorations are fabricated. You will also have an opportunity to view your porcelain restorations before they are permanently bonded to your teeth.
- Have you been published in any dental journals?
Dr. Marashi is an accomplished author, whose work has been published in the leading dental journals, and he recently co-authored a chapter in the textbook of a famous New York City plastic surgeon.
