Dental Implants

The procedure itself consists of two phases — the surgical phase and the restorative phase. The surgical phase involves the actual placement of the implant itself. This procedure is best done by a specialist, such as a periodontist or an oral surgeon. The restorative phase involves the placement of a dental restoration — crown, bridge, or denture — over the dental implant.
